Meaning in this text
The divine illusory power (shakti) of the Supreme that causes the appearance of multiplicity in what is ultimately one undivided reality. In the Bhagavatam, maya binds souls who forget their relationship with God, and can only be crossed by the grace of Krishna.
On this site, Maya is treated as a reading aid rather than a final doctrinal definition: use it to move from a question about a term into the chapters where the term actually appears.
